Migrated from Fedora 14 to Fedora 15. This time I'm running nouveau ... hmm, nice performance compared to the blobs. Anyway, WoP still wont start and I'm told my recent configuration should do it. Here is what I get: http://pastebin.com/KPDD8b19

I plan to host a LAN party for my birthday this month. It does look like a show stopper.

First of all, update to the current version, which is 1.5.1.1 (website, left sidebar).
How did you install WoP? Looks like all data files are missing.

Since you most likely did not change any settings yet, delete ~/.padman/* to get rid of old and possibly faulty WoP configs.

Besides, you can use wopded to host a LAN server, which does not even require any graphics card ;)

I was running it from a decompressed archive (raw). It should work. I installed the propriety nVidia driver for my machine and it worked. So, its something to do with the free/opensource driver (nouveau) ... which is really a pity because the propriety driver is giving me pain on other boxes in my network.

The log you posted does not list any of the required *.pk3 data files, so the game can not work at all, regardless of your video driver.

By decompressed archive, do you mean you extracted all pk3 files? The OpenGL init fails, so you'll have to switch back to the other driver to get WoP working.

Could you expound on that further, cyrri?

I have updated the paste to reflect the recent output, here. This one is happening on my laptop (dell-precision m6300). Tremulous plays fine on nouveau and the nvidia blob hangs my Desktop environment (both KDE & Gnome). So, I hope there is a way to get WoP to run on nouveau even if I get the flickers (like in Tremulous)

The game tries to init the video system and fails every time, which could be related to driver problems. However, since Tremulous runs fine, the driver can't be the issue. You are running WoP 1.5, which is outdated and relies on a OpenGL extension that not all graphics cards support. Deleting ~/.padman/wop/wopconfig.cfg and installing the latest patch should fix that problem.
