Hi,

For those who don't know me, I'm an insta-only player who recently came back in the game after more than 2 years of break… So I use to play on HF server, but suddenly the drama came. Since saturday morning, I have a ping of 150ms. :'( :O-O: :'(
I talked by pm with misterX, and he can't see where's my problem, cause the server hasn't changed at all in the night from wednesday to saturday. Since 2 weeks, it moved to Frankfurt, but it seems not to be the cause of my low ping, cause I played many times without noticing any problems.
So here is the question : why ??? :*X*:
I can't hide my despair, cause if I can't play on HF insta anymore, I can't play wop anymore (no, really, I don't like the normal gametype)… and so, my life wouldn't make sense anymore. :=o=:

If anyone has an idea, of what to do, what to change in my config or whatever that could help me, I'd be grateful…
For your information, i'm in France, I have a not-so-bad connection (test of bandwidth : 3700Kos), I used to play with ping between 50 and 70 max, I'm on mac with wop 1.5.1 (a mac pro monster 2 x 2.8GHz quadcore each, 8Go memory) and here is my traceroute to the Hf's instagib server :

maybe the provider compatibility with your country isnt right

the hf server is slow the last weeks

alot of crashes, lags and so on


problems with the b3 bot and provider i think

many got the same problem

I'm not surprised your ping is so high, given that there are 20 hops in between you and the server.
Hop 8 to 15 seem to be somewhat broken, given that according to rDNS they are just routing internally. The jump from your LAN to the ISP on hop 1 to 2 also seems to take ages.

If the server did not change, it's most likely due to your ISP's routing. You can contact them and ask whether they have technical difficulties or whether they could check your connection.


There's almost nothing you can do to improve pings. The usual tricks are; don't use wireless, ensure your pc is not working on its limits, use a proper ISP, choose servers near to your location.

are the problems still there? I see you often with a 18 ping. This is not soo bad ;) And the lags are gone. Or do you have lags anymore?

My problem is still here… I did not contact my provider because I think he would not worry about MY problem (don't think there are many players in my case, with a server in Frankfurt… xD )
So I have four choices :
- hang with my mouse cable (arg, i have a cable-less mouse…)
- forget wop
- change my ISP (but my office is at home, and i NEED internet everyday !)
- create my own instagib server, and compete with hf's one

I think I will choose the fourth solution, but I don't know if a hoster provide preinstalled server with wop… I 'll continue to search later.
