I'm having this problem every time I set a skybox, I almost finished my first map But when I don't have a skybox the environment is without textures and that forces me to make my maps only in boxes which so annoying.

If anyone know how to fix it please reply, I'll be REALLY grateful if you help me with that.

Which version of the Radiant (1.4.0, 1.5.0, GtkRadiant, NetRadiant) do you use?
Are you trying the official skyboxes or custom ones? Did you try this with a plain mapping installation without additional pk3s?

I'm using GtkRadiant 1.5.0 and the official skyboxes which are provided with the tutorial. And yes I've tried without additional pk3s with a completely fresh copy.

Does the full path to either the skybox's textures or shaders contain any non-ASCII Characters? It seems like Radiant has some serious troubles as far as that goes.
You could also try using NetRadiant instead.

hello osmo.

i dont know if that can help you but try this:

-in game: /r_fastsky "0"

-it is strange you can use a transparent windows theme with gtkradiant, because it is not support.
(try to disables aero theme or other special transparent theme.)

-try to download a skybox with complete texture and shader files and install it.
if the new skybox going well, now you can know what exactly is broken in your wop base.
here for an exemple : in the middle of the page : http://www.simonoc.com/pages/materials.htm

Ok, I've tried the NetRadiant but it doesn't allow the OpenGL to work properly, the 3D and 2D fields are blurry and can't be edited in the both modes - transparent and basic themes. Since my windows 7 have troubles with the OpenGL (which works only in transparent theme, idk why...) this could be the problem for the program.

I've also tried with 3 different custom skyboxes and this also didn't helped. Oh, and btw... the /r_fastsky command fixed the not-textured blurry environment into dark space which I found for more acceptable.

Your best bet is to wait for some of the mappers to drop by. If you're curious, you could try the older 1.4.0 Version of Radiant, but I doubt it'll work better. NetRadiant should work, try disabling Windows' visual effects for this application altoghether.
If you want skyboxes, no matter what, try editing the .map file with a text-editor and directly compile using q3map2 ;)

r_fastSky does not fix the skyboxes, it just draws a black color instead. If you want the void to be "textured", load the map with /devmap and "set r_clear 1".
