hey leute,

hier habt ihr die einmalige gelegenheit der wissenschaft zu helfen, und dabei WoP bekannt zu machen! :((O)):
ihr müsst dazu nur den BOINC-Client installieren, den es hier für verschiedene plattformen gibt, und euch für ein oder mehrere der unten genannten projekte anmelden, und dem team 'world of padman' beitreten - falls ihr gerne für ein anderes projekt crunchen möchtet - kein problem - erstellt dann ein team mit dem namen 'world of padman' (kleingeschrieben), damit es mit den anderen projekten zusammen angezeigt wird... seid dann bitte so gut, und postet die team-join-url hier - ich werde dieses erste posting immerwieder mal aktualisieren, und die informationen ergänzen ;-)

update - 23.10.07:

der neue BOINC-Client 5.10.20 lässt es zu, die maximale CPU last einzustellen, die BOINC verursachen darf (ging vorher nicht, gell!?)

Kai-Li hat ein Plugin für Firefox gefunden, mit dem man sich seine Stats in der Statusleiste anzeigen lassen kann.
Mit einem Klick landet man dann übrigens in seinem Profil beim entsprechenden Projekt. (das ganze in einem neuen tab :) )

Update:

Gerade habe ich mir mal ein BAM-Konto (BOINC-Account-Manager) erstellt - nette sache das - man hat zugriff auf alle seine projekteinstellungen und stats von einer seite aus

und dann hab ich hier auch noch die BOINC-Gesamtstatistiken für unser Team - hier auch noch... ;)

also dann viel spass beim numbercrunchen ;-)

Wäre es nicht besser, wenn man ein Boinc-WOP-Team bildet, sich auf ein Projekt zu konzentrieren, da, im Vergleich, wohl eher wenige Leute sich zusammenfinden werden?
Ich mein, sonst bringt das ja nicht allzu viel, wenn man die Kapazitäten auf so viele Projekte verteilt.?  :-[

ist eigentlich auch meine meinung ;-)
unser opfer heisst QMC - da dieses projekt noch recht frisch ist stehen die chancen da natürlich auch am besten - auch bei rosetta ist ein top 10 platz (in den deutschen stats) drin... aber 2-3 projekte auf einem pc ist nicht das problem. übrigens sind wir schon in den top 10 - bei den durchschittlichen credits!

Hey ist ja genial, ich habe ja schon ewig Boinc auf einem Rechner laufen. Bisher habe ich aber hauptsächlich Climate Prediction unterstützt. Da sehe ich persönlich den meisten Sinn drin. Leider taucht das hier gar nicht auf. Wäre aber selbst dafür, dort ebenfalls ein WOP-Team aufzumachen. Wie seht ihr das?

btw. war schon jemand auf der boincstats-seite? willy der admin hat vor ein paar tagen eine smiley-unterstüzung in die shoutbox dort eingebaut - und die smileys kommen mir irgendwie bekannt vor... (da waren andere vor ein paar tagen :lol:)

Jo, gute Idee, bin auch dem WOP-Team beigetreten!  :((O)):
Wird noch ein wenig dauern, bis die Server das umgesetzt haben und ich im WOP-Team auftauche.
Hab ca. 2300 credits und bin seit 1.1.2006 am Rechnen, bin da also erst angefangen überhaupt etwas zu berechnen. Crunche hauptsächlich für SETI.
War vorher bei seti.germany und die sind ja eh immer an der Spitze, denen war daher eh 'nicht mehr zu helfen'.  :ugly:
Mein Nick ist dort aber ein anderer, und zwar 'glanzlicht'.
Nun wollen wer mal schauen, dass wir das WOP-Team etwas höher bekommen...im Laufe der Zeit...  <P ...UND natürlich ein richtig fettes Signal finden.
Freue mich, wenn noch einige mehr dazustossen.
Das BOINC-WOP-Engagement wäre gut für einen Beitrag in den worldofpadman.com-News geeignet.  :)

No, gucke zwar regelmäßig dort vorbei, wie vor ca. 1 Stunde, aber wenn man so den halben Tag am Rechner sitzt und oft manche Seiten zwischenzeitlich routinemäßig abgrast, kann es schon sein, dass man was übersieht.
Oder anders ausgedrückt, es gibt halt eher selten eine News, so dass ich unbewußt schon davon ausgehe, dass nun nichts Neues erscheinen wird und etwaige Neuigkeiten dann mir bald nicht mehr auffallen. Oder so...  :ugly:
Aber kann noch nicht lange online sein, der Beitrag auf der deutschen Seite, oder..?

Nö, hatte erst einmal damit zu tun, meinen Rechner einzurichten und wieder für BOINC fit zu machen. Ich hatte ja zwischendurch mal ausgesetzt mit dem Rechnen. Wenn du willst, gründe mal eine entsprechende Gruppe, dann kommt alles aus einer Hand. Ich hänge mich dann ein.
